Here at The Earthy Marketplace, we believe in giving back to nature directly. We also believe that to begin to tackle the Biodiversity Crisis and Climate Change, we need to start thinking differently and collectively. That is why every month, with the help of our friends over at tree-planting initiative Reforest Nation, we decided to ensure that a percentage of our Service fee goes towards planting native Irish trees every single month. None of this would be possible without the generous and dedicated contributions of our members, the great businesses, and organisations that make up The Earthy Marketplace Community.

Members can choose to opt-in to be a part of our Native Irish Tree Planting Mission when they sign up to join The Earthy Marketplace by having one or two native Irish trees planted on their behalf every month based on the Membership Subscription they select. Our native tree(s) icon, can be seen in the Gallery of the Listing of each respective Member taking part.

Our commitment to give back to nature in this way will not only contribute towards offsetting the carbon footprint of The Earthy Marketplace Community but also aid biodiversity and help to reforest and rewild Ireland. 

The Earthy Marketplace Native Irish Tree Planting Mission is a proud participant of #GenerationRestoration as part of The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration is a global rallying cry to heal our planet. Anyone and everyone can join the #GenerationRestoration movement to prevent, halt and reverse the degradation of ecosystems worldwide and we encourage you to get involved in any way you can! Ecosystem restoration is one of the most important ways of delivering nature-based solutions for food insecurity, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and biodiversity loss. It won’t be quick or easy, and it will take deep changes to everything from the way we measure economic progress to how we grow food and what we eat. But the beauty of ecosystem restoration is that it can happen at any scale – and everyone has a role to play.

We believe to rewild Ireland planting diverse native forest is vital, that’s why we plant the most biodiverse species range of any initiative in Ireland.'

We choose to partner with Reforest Nation as they plant Ireland's most diverse range of native trees, consisting of 20+ species to encourage optimum biodiversity potential. Did you know that Reforest Nation also commit that for every tree they plant in Ireland they will plant at least one other in biodiversity hotspots across Africa, Asia & Central America? They aim to reduce extreme poverty and restore healthy global forests by employing local people to plant trees annually through their international partners.
